Re: Long time, no see!

Thanks! Hopefully somebody has done Kadcyla for years. Yes, it’s been a struggle for me too but it’s also been effective!

Long time, no see!

I’m pleased that I recognize many names still, that’s a good sight!

Maybe nobody remembers me but that’s ok. I’m trying to find people who have been on Kadcyla longer than me, which is...

Re: Kadcyla Side Effects

After two years of remission with only perjeta/herceptin, cancer exploded all through my abdomen and lungs. Pain was intense and I was getting pretty sick. Nov 8 I did my first Kadcyla. I had a rough...

Re: Mets - "Neither random or unpredictable"

Don't know what you are talking about-link? I assumed bone lived longer because they are not a vital organ like brain, liver, lungs. Bone can cause serious problems but you have to have a lot to...

Re: GOOD MORNING EVERYONE!: oligometastatic breast cancer-- possibility of cure

Wow, I got a message about this thread. Haven't been here in a while.

Well, I guess I have bad news. Cancer has spread all though my abdomen and in my lungs. I started my 8th chemo (tdm-1). I got...

Re: Mets Question

He could see problems that affected the eyes or the blood pressure of the eyes. Not all or even most mets will show up in the eyes. I'm pretty sure he was just talking about just your eyes and not...

Re: Scan this morning

Penny, seems like to me every time that cancer wants to party, you call in the cops and turn the music off! You'll do it again too. Maybe you won't get to NED (although I hope you do) but you keep...

Re: Adriana Mangus has her wings

This makes me sick. We were chatting on Facebook often, and I'd sent her some earrings I'd made.

I'd gone to Texas this month and was so busy studying for my talk I didn't check in. Now I feel...

Re: My News

Wow, I didn't read the last post until now. Thank you so much. I've been in bed with a headache most of today and feeling crabby and decided to check in on you all. I'm so delighted and flattered to...

Re: In Praise of Perjeta

Great drug. I've been on it two years. No bowel issues either, and I've read the magic sentence "no evidence of recurrent metastatic disease." I know it saved my life.

Glad it's helping you...

Re: My News

I credit perjeta with saving my life. I'm not on it with a chemo either. My doctor threw a hail mary pass and landed it! They have not studied it without a chemo and it's still only recommended...

My News

I'm sorry that I haven't been posting a lot. I've been busy, and filled with chemo-brain confusion. I will be speaking at SXSW 2015 on the topic of what we need to cure breast cancer, which is very...

Re: "remarkable results" presented for adding Perjeta(pertuzumab)to Herceptin for Sta

I'm living proof that it works. I had intractable liver mets: 7 different chemos, half my liver removed, liver ablation, finally chemo starting to destroy my bone marrow, SBRT and then Perjeta and...

Re: Went for mammo and cancer has returned...

As the other ladies have said, it isn't Stage IV if it's not in an organ or bone, you would be IIIc. I wouldn't want women like thinkpositive to get scared or be misinformed.

I have a friend...

Re: Will you share how you "live your legacy," with me?

Thank you ladies, your kind words are lovely.

I am grateful that my little blog became popular because nearly daily I get letters from scared women whom I can try to comfort or just be an ear...

Re: Cardiac toxicity with Herceptin

This has not happened to me, but I do know many, many cancer patients and it has happened to quite a few of them. Many have to go off Herceptin, which is scary, but they recover in a couple months...

Re: Went for mammo and cancer has returned...

Linn, I'm so sorry.

But you know, you can do it again. That first chemo you do when early stage is difficult because they throw everything at you. It's more gentle the second time.

I've been...

Re: New Here & Need Words of Wisdom

Herceptin/Perjeta IS a miracle for me, but it wasn't an instant miracle. It took a year.

It took me a full year to hear the word NED, and that was after years of dealing with metastatic cancer...

Re: Just Herceptin and Perjeta - side effects

It seems that if I get three whole weeks between any treatment, my blood does rise although it's always a bit low. But the way I get treatment is I get one every three weeks and one every month, and...
