Deb, you are lucky it is just about the deductible. I had the diep and my plastic surg was nonpar which meant I ended up paying a LOT of money.

Laurel, well to tell you the truth, ever since I switched from Arimidex to Femara, I had hardly any side effects if any. So being post-femara, I didn't notice...

I had bilateral radiation and then 7 yrs later had stage I with mastectomy and DIEP (bilata) It made the surgery a bit more difficult, but my surgeon did very well and I am very happy.

Interesting article. My surgical oncologist, back in 2006, implied it may not necessarily be a bad idea to have the surgery, herceptin and AI and forgo the chemo. I did end up having the chemo also. ...
