Acupuncture

Someone else mentioned acupuncture with the shading of 'weirdo', and I know how she feels - but if this is easiyl available to you, I would really recommend it. I had acupuncture during chemo (never...

Wonderful news

Every time one of us goes through the misery and terror of a feared recurrence, and it turns out to be a false alarm, I think it helps us all remember that often things turn out happily.
Enjoy the...

Kevin and Sue show

Dear Sue and Kevin,

From the very first your posts have been suffused with such love for each other, such fearless (if understandably nervous) zest to do what has to be done and get through it,...

Zzzzzzzz

I definitely feel that (a) sleep is essential to health and healing, and (b) being awake in the middle of the night and fretting - to put it mildly - is OUT. I take .5 mg of melatonin, whihc seems...

Another happy story, keeping fingers crossed

I was diagnosed in July 2002, tiny tumor (they almost didn't find it) but 10 of 16 lymph nodes were positive. I had a lumpectomy, 3 rounds of taxotere and epirubicin administered on successive days,...

Guggul

I believe that Guggul is also known as /is similar too Boswellia serrata, which has been discussed as an anti-inflammatory, and useful for liver mets, elsewhere on this site.

Thank you

That's wonderfully helpful, Nedra, finally I know (which tiny pains to fret about and which to ignore). The information about tenderness is also very useful and will probably save me a few ultrasound...

Scans, and the liver/lungs

I agree, Nedra, and that is exactly what I do. Whenever I feel anything which could be remotely interpreted as liver pain, I do ask for an ultrasound scan at my next check-up. Those scans are readily...

I am mystified too

I agree with you, Kelly. All the logic I can dredge up points to the wisdom of checking often and early and. as you say, to catch one small tumor before it turns into several. I would have attributed...

European doctors agree

Hi,

I live in Europe and hence am subject to prevailing opinion here. For what it's worth, doctors in Europe completely agree with your oncologists. After the first year no more scans unless some...

Beyond medicine

Dear Sherry,

You are splendidly courageous in the face of what is clearly an incredibly difficult situation. I agree that your oncologist was probably at a low point anyway, and seeing you so...

Good bye hair

I took epirubicin, something very like adriamycin plus taxotere and was told my hair would fall out in 19 days - and it did, to the day. You might want to get a jump on things and cut it a few days...

Sarah,

I think that is a brilliant idea. Just something basic and simple, and then women can choose to research further, but don't have to if they're weary

That's wonderful news, Kate.

I have just been googling around and looking at websites and it is truly dismaying how often ovarian cancer is misdiagnosed - for months.

I'm glad you have put...

Breast cancer and now ovarian cancer

A friend of mine, who went through (non Her2) breast cancer a few years before me, has just been diagnosed with ovarian cancer, for which prior breast cancer is, unfairly enough, a risk factor. None...

I think about you and Linda every day, and check this site lately largely in hopes of finding word that she is pulling out of the crisis, and feeling better.

I also recommend 100% aloe very gel, I slathered it on immediately after radiation and I actually didn't burn. Another tip I got from a previous radiee was to visualize cooling water during the...
