Re: New mets for MJ :(

Hi Jackie,
He took her off Herceptin after the Her2 mets to her uterus, cervix, fallopian tubes and nearby lymph nodes. It didn't appear to be offering any protection at that point. Perjeta is...

Re: What do we do now?

Kellennea,
Some good advice has been given here. I'm still trying to figure out how to get back to "normal", the way we were before the diagnosis. I'm not sure that's possible, as this experience...

Re: Lapatnib & Liquor? or Tykerb & Tequila?

Denise,
I haven't seen anything that says you must not have any alcohol with Tykerb. MJ enjoys a Blue Moon beer or two every now and then. There needs to be a balance with quality of life too I...

Re: Breast Cancer Spread to Uterus

Joanne,
Thanks for your kind words. MJ does not like to visit these sites so I'm kind of on here for her to find out more information. When we first found out her breast cancer had spread to her...

Re: French bean counters weigh herceptin vs lapatinib

MJ has been on Tykerb-only treatment for the past 3 months after finishing 4 rounds of Xeloda/Tykerb. She couldn't tolerate the side-effects of Xeloda any longer than that, especially the extreme...

Re: ibc triple neg...eeeek newbie

MJ had the same symptoms and they first tried to treat it as an infection, giving her antibiotics. It later turned out to actually be inflammatory breast cancer. There seems to be a need to better...

Re: Evidence Mounts on Heart Failure After Trastuzumab in Breast Cancer Survivors

I'm hoping for the best for MJ with her Tykerb-only treatment. I wish for her to respond and stay NED without bringing Herceptin back in the picture. We were really disappointed when she had mets...

Re: Evidence Mounts on Heart Failure After Trastuzumab in Breast Cancer Survivors

I wonder if the use of TDM1 will have a similar risk since it contains Herceptin?

Re: Trastuzumab Emtansine (T-DM1) Significantly Improves Breast Cancer Survival

"The EMILIA study has met both of its co-primary endpoints: progression-free survival and significant improvements in overall survival, the company added."

Does anyone know...

Re: Perjeta For Breast Cancer Gets Roche's Genentech An FDA Approval

I keep wondering what is the advantage of taking drugs that don't increase overall survival, but only increase progression-free survival by a few months?

Re: Need hopeful stories of survivors of Inflammatory Breast Cancer?

I don't know what "survivor" means but MJ is approaching the 2-year mark with her IBC. She's been Stage 4 from the start and has had one recurrence but seems to be NED now. She will have PET/CT scans...

What hoops are people having to jump through to get Tykerb with Herceptin instead of Xeloda?

Re: MUST READ-- metastatic her2+ breast cancer not necessarily the death sentence it

Re: MUST READ-- metastatic her2+ breast cancer not necessarily the death sentence it

This article mentions Stage IV but these don't seem to be Stage IV statistics. "The median duration of trastuzumab for CR patients in the two institutions was 67 months (range: 49 to 107+) in...
