Re: 5 yr or 10 yr Femara

Hi Donna, congrats on the five year mark!

I was told 10 years is the “new norm” for AI’s. This is my second “stretch” with femara (almost 6 years). First time was 5 years and I developed a new...

Re: Chemo Not Needed for Most Early Breast Cancer: TAILORx

I’m with Sarah on this one. I was diagnosed with stage 1a and had radiation as well as anti-estrogens for 10 years. Herceptin was out of the question for early stage. 12 years later...

Re: Recurrence

Hi Ginny, sorry to hear of your recurrence. I recurred after 12 years and even though it was considered a new primary because it was in the other breast, it was the exact same pathology as the...

Re: 6 years later and MRI picks up something

Waiting sucks. I had an 18 month stint where the breast MRI showed something and there was nothing on the ultrasound. Every six months for both tests until MRI was clear.
And I have implants!

Re: Sore mouth from chemo - ice therapy?

I used biotene products at the recommendation of my dentist for dry mouth. I'm not sure I ever had a sore mouth.

I had a prescription for "magic mouthwash" which is similar to what Paul...

Re: New Article: 20-year risk of BC recurrence & length of endocrine therapy

Side effects from letrozole? Can't tell whether it's the letrozole or getting older, lol. I've been osteopenic for years (before BC) and have done the fosamax, actonel, reclast . My...

Re: New Article: 20-year risk of BC recurrence & length of endocrine therapy

Ok, so a combo of er+ and her2+ stinks big time. I was on tamoxifen and letrozole for 10 years, happily anti-estrogen free for 18 months, then "kaboom", breast cancer again in other breast. Back on...

Re: Anyone switch from Arimidex to tamoxifen?

Why wouldn't your Onc put you on another AI like letrozole or aromasin? I was on tamoxifen for 4.5 years and hated every second. I was on letrozole for 5 years the first time and 4 years...
