Re: 15 years later

Hi Kitty9 and everyone else,
Nice to see some old familiar names. I was diagnosed in 2003, so only come back on every few years or so. Glad to see people are keeping well.

Corona Virus Risk to Cancer Survivors

Hi guys,

When I was trying to figure out whether my cancer history put me at greater risk of corona virus, I ran across this study of corona virus and China. The patients in the study were still...

Re: Chemo-induced Osteoporosis: Seeking Healthy ways of Rebuilding Healthy Bones

There was a promising trial of tomato paste and post-menopausal Italian women a while back. Of course, I can't find it now. The one-off bone loss from chemopause is substantially higher than from...

Re: Hunger in youth linked to breast cancer

Some Dutch researchers have done a series of articles based on a famine in the Netherlands at the end of World War II. These indicate that calorie restriction before the age of 10 has serious...

Re: pH Balanced Gel for atrophic vaginitis in bc survivors

I have tried the lactic acid gel and it does make a difference, although it is a bit messy. There can be a problem with stinging, so it might be easier to ease in with something that gets the vagina...

Re: Ovarian suppression before and during chemo reduces early menopause

Good stuff. It is a bit discouraging, though, that the doctor at the end only seemed to think about avoiding pre-mature menopause as only being about fertility. Chemopause is also associated with...

Re: Please let me know what you think i should do next

You could try to go private, but it might be expensive if you are not a patient. The local BUPA hospital wanted £60,000 from me for a year of herceptin before it was on the NHS, partly because they...

Re: 2 years vs. 1 year on Herceptin

The results of the two year arm have in the past been promised at particular conferences and then not materialised. It would be nice if this time something came out regarding the effectiveness.

Re: CEP17 seems to be key to anthracycline susceptibility

Yes, of course, these treatments should not be taken too lightly.

At the same time, some patients do benefit. In Bartlett's earlier work, it seems that at least 15 out of 100 women benefitted...
