Smile Re: Femara

I'm very familiar with the leg cramps - as well as the bone and joint pain. I guess we can expect to look like raisins, too, since this stuff sucks every drop of estrogen out of our bodies. However,...

Re: Femara

Hi, Juls,

Sorry to be exposing my ignorance in so public a forum, but I am not familiar with "AI" except as a short for autoimmune. Please explain.

Thanks,
Lynne

Re: Femara

Paul - I don't know my D level, but I assume it's OK with this supplement or someone would have told me to stop taking it. I take the one you describe - dark green gel cap. However, that's not quite...

Re: Femara

Thanks Paul and Carol Ann. I have been on 50,000 IU vitamin D once a week for years - way before I had cancer. It was prescribed by my rheumatologist to help with osteoporosis. One of the oncologists...

Re: Femara

Hi - I'm 2 1/2 yrs post surgery and taking generic Femara. I have a lot of bone/joint pain, and my hands are the worst. I can't make a fist with my left hand in the morning, and that makes getting...

Re: Pet Scan

SoCalGal - Great post! Just what I needed to hear. My doctor doesn't do any testing for markers etc. They check my blood count periodically because I'm chronically anemic. I think I'll assume I'm...

Re: Pet Scan

I moved from S. Louisiana where I had surgery, started chemo (TCH) and completed radiation to E. Tennessee. I have all new doctors of course. Neither the onc nor the surgeon who is following me...

Re: Mild Lymphedema

I relate to the difficulty you're having and the different approaches to treatment. It would be great if everyone could agree on a Best Practice! I have a lead on a therapist in Knoxville and will...

Re: Swelling?

I had a biopsy and 12 nodes removed on the side with the LE. I also had radiation which burned my skin and caused an infection. I am eager to find out more that I can do on my own since I have so far...

Re: Mild Lymphedema

To LymphActivist: When does your wife wear a compression sleeve? Or does she rely on the bandage exclusively? I've been told to wear a sleeve during the day, regardless of what I was doing, and to...

Re: Update on lymphedema ?

I could not agree more. It's finding a therapist that's the problem. Some "schools" issue a certificate for a two-week online course or something similar. I went to two certified therapists, one of...

Re: Please post your two cents on Herceptin "side effects" real or perceived!

I don't know if it's Herceptin or not, but neuropathy, particularly in my right hand is worse. Of course, I have lymphedema in that arm, so that could be a contributing factor. Some of the symptoms...

Anyone taking Arimidex?

I have moved from South Louisiana to East Tennessee to live with my daughter following the death of my husband in June. I have new doctors etc. This is a much smaller town than Baton Rouge, but so...

Re: Update on lymphedema ?

I have a Juzo sleeve that causes distortion in my forearm and a lump on the back of my upper arm. I've never heard anyone else complain of this, but my arm definitely looks different when I wear that...

Re: Advise on different kinds of compression sleeves?

Thanks, ele. I have a Solidea shrug that is looser than the Juzo and I have better luck with that. Maybe tighter is not better. I hate that there is so little scientific research into this topic!

Re: Advise on different kinds of compression sleeves?

My Juzo sleeve causes my forearm to swell on the outer side. It's the weirdest looking thing. The ring around the thumb on the gauntlet is so tight it cuts off circulation. I think both are doing...

Re: Mild Lymphedema

Hi - I have lymphedema and just finished a course of treatment with a certified LE therapist. I bandage at night, wear a sleeve in the daytime and do exercises and self massage every day. I'm sure...

Re: Swelling?

I have lymphedema in my right arm. I didn't have an infection, cut, etc either, just the swelling initially. I think it - lymphedema - can start without any obvious triggers if you've had a sentinel...

Re: Fasting Helps Immune System after Chemo

I'd like to know the precise details of fasting. The only ones I've been on were in the hospital to "rest" my GI tract for several days. I received nothing at all by mouth, but I was on IV fluids....

Re: Please post your two cents on Herceptin "side effects" real or perceived!

I've just started Herceptin alone. I had five TCH treatments, but onc stopped them due to worsening neuropathy in hands and feet. The first treatment, three days ago, was uneventful. None of the...

Re: Neulasta and eating difficulties

Hi - I'm still new here, but I've taken Neulasta after each of my TCH treatments. My onc recommends Claritin, without the decongestant, twice a day for 3-5 days starting the day of the shot. It helps...
