I was diagnosed 5 years ago, and I'm 51 months since surgery. I feel like a junior here compared to others, but it goes to show that we do and are surviving.

I totally agree with KellyA, the first 24-48 hours are like "what's the fuss all about", but after that, hang on!

So getting the port (PICC here in BC, Canada) should be relatively easy to bear...
