Re: Tamoxifen - what they don't tell you about ...

As I said before, tamoxifen is a very toxic drug!

Re: Tamoxifen - what they don't tell you about ...

In my case, as I said earlier, the pelvic pain was apparently due to the menopause; I don't think so!

Re: Tamoxifen - what they don't tell you about ...

With thanks to those who replied.

I try not to let BC rule my life anymore, but thought it important to relay what happened to me when taking tamoxifen, even though cystitis is not a known side...

Re: Tamoxifen - what they don't tell you about ...

Thank you for your reply, Brenda.

I suppose because I was problem-free for the first three years, a switch to an AI was not considered necessary.

As I said previously, the hideous pelvic pain...

Tamoxifen - what they don't tell you about ...

Not a frequent visitor nowadays, but thought you should know about my experience with tamoxifen.

I opted to take tamoxifen rather than arimidex for a number of reasons. For the first three years,...

Re: Five year milestone reached

Yes, sometimes we have to listen to our oncs, AA, even if others are advising otherwise.

I am pleased that you, too, are well.

My best wishes to you.

Re: Five year milestone reached

Thank you, everyone.

I feel as if a great burden has been lifted, but am also acutely aware that others have not been as fortunate.

Kindest regards

Five year milestone reached

Hi everyone

I rarely post on breast cancer sites anymore for a number of reasons, but wanted you all to know that I had the five year 'all clear' yesterday. This in spite of receiving neither...

Re: Joe passed on this evening

Like Kym above, I have not logged on for ages and was so sorry to read this sad news about Joe.

My condolences go to his loving family.

Re: Five years out???

Will reach the 'all clear' 5 year mark in November; no recurrence as yet! But I am an anomaly in that I received neither chemo nor herceptin, in spite of being weakly HER2+. Think it was the right...

Re: Radiologic conference--semiannual mammograms being recommended to post-lumpectomy

Here in the UK, you get yearly mammograms up to five years from dx; thereafter it is every two years, and when the magic 10 years is up, it is back to the mobile NHS van!

MRIs are considered very...

More congratulations from someone 'over the pond', Jean. You were one of the first on this site to give me hope, though our diagnoses were somewhat different. Thank you for that.

Re: Celebrating my 2 year survivorship today.

Liz

My pathology was similar to yours, and I received neither chemo nor herceptin. I am now four years out.

So you are not alone ...

Laurel

Four years ago, I had extreme reservations about my treatment plan; now - I think it was right.

No one wants to go through chemo / herceptin unnecessarily.

Thanks for your...

Re: recommended reading for all newly (and formerly) diagnosed with T1a or b NO MO he

I fulfilled this criteria, receiving neither chemo nor herceptin - just surgery, rads and tamoxifen.

Additionally, I take daily flaxseed, and like to think this contributes to my NED status, four...

Yes, another one here who has slipped back into some of her old ways. At dx, I wasn't ever going to eat this, that or the other again, but here I am doing just that!

However, I eat far less...

Rich

Being ignored is so damned rude! How dare they do that to an intelligent, rational human being who is only trying to support his mother.

Shame on them!

Since this is a public board, I do not want to reveal too much info about myself, hence the lack of signature.

Re: Borderline FISHy

The fact I am still clear! But there was no node involvement or vascular invasion, which is why my medics were reluctant to put me through aggressive therapy.

I am borderline Fishy (2.71), am four years down the line, having had surgery, rads and tamoxifen - no chemo or herceptin.

This was the right decision for me, though I was sceptical at...
