Re: Tucatinib Is Active Against Brain Metastases in HER2+ Breast Cancer

Not sure this is the right thread - please feel free to reposition as needed. Just wanted to cross-post / share from social media, because there's not much positive around for us younger (relatively)...

Re: 12 years Stage 4 - Still A-OK

Hi Mamacze / Kim,

happy, happy birthday! You inspire me - as you did when I was first diagnosed a bit over 2 years ago and completely off my rocker with fear.
I hope I can do what you're doing -...

Re: Stage 4, need more options

I believe that by the book, TDM-1 is in order in such a case - it's second line when Herceptin / Perjeta fail you in the body (based on what my oncologist says - mind you, I'm in Canada, I believe...

Re: Working thread - what do you think the HER2+ standard of care should be really?

Just a quick one re brain scans and lymph node involvement... I did not have cnfirmed lymph node involvement (the tisseu thatvwas taken out as sentinel turned out to not be a lymph node at all). It...

Re: PSA: Get your brain scanned

@agness

I may be able to affort treatment outside Canada, but within limitations. We're definitely not millionaires. And:

1. Given they seem to multiply every time we take a look, my...

Re: PSA: Get your brain scanned

I live in Canada - Toronto.

They transferred me to Sunnybrook (Dr. Sahgal) who is said to be a capacity in the field. He said he was going to do SRS up to 10 lesions. I was at 9 with the initial...

Re: PSA: Get your brain scanned

Agreed. I asked, begged and threatened - my onc did not give me a brain scan. So I went to my family doc, who is the gold star of doctors - and he did. They have found 15 brain mets (albeit small...

Re: The metastatic breast cancer alliance

I'm in there as well - not sure they intended to have people from "north of the border", but I did fill in the form, and I'm "de novo"... It seems to make so much sense - to finally at least collect...

Re: Suspicion of many scattered brain mets

Hi Agness,

thank you. I live in Canada (GTA). A little bird told me that apparently 2 other women managed to get IT Herceptin in Toronto. That is what I will request from my onc on Wednesday, and...

Re: Suspicion of many scattered brain mets

Unfortunately no good news here. Brain mets confirmed. Two 5 mm ones in the cerebellum (still horseback riding, though, which I find kind of amazing), and apparently a scattering of "points that...

Re: a cure for 90% of cancers??????????

Yes, it's yet another venue and sounds promising, thanks for posting, Lani. If you read thru what they're currently seeing with mice, it's not a cure, though. It seems to slow down and partially...

Re: Phase II MARIANNE trial results--T-DM1 treatment not superior to herceptin+taxane

But, you do not loose your hair and Taxanes (I had Docetaxel every three weeks) can be quite vicious in terms of side effects. So not sure if I'd had the choice I would not have opted for TDM-1. On...
