Re: Metformin, anything new?
I am in a Metformin study. About a year ago a preliminary analysis of their data showed that there was zero impact on ER- patients, so all ER- patients were taken off the drug (including me). As far...

Re: Do you take Metformin?
I just got confirmation from my study coordinator that all ER-/PR- patients are to stop taking Metformin, as it is having no effect on outcome.
Of course what that DOES mean is that they are...

Re: Anyone on Lyrica?
I took (still take, but am weening off of it) gabapentin for nerve pain from several herniated discs. Gabapentin and Lyrica are very similar. My side effects haven't been too objectionable -- the...

Re: Do you take Metformin?
I've just heard from a friend on the Metformin trial who had TNBC that all ER-/PR- patients are being dropped from the trial because the latest analysis of the data has shown that Metformin has no...

Re: Radiation repercussions almost 10 years later
I received radiation therapy to my left breast in November of 2012. They had me do ABC breathing (assisted breath control) to reduce exposure to my heart -- but at the expense of my lung. I will...

Re: Do you take Metformin?
I may or may not be taking Metformin -- I'm participating in a trial to see if it has any effect on breast cancer recurrence. I haven't noticed any side effects, so I may be on a placebo.

@waytooyoung - did you check with your study coordinator to see if they could reveal whether you got the placebo or perjeta?

Re: Gabapentin for hot flashes
I discovered by accident that gabapentin reduces hot flashes when my surgeon prescribed it for nerve pain. It also got rid of my insomnia and restless legs. Sometimes I think about going back on it...

You might also want to ask your oncologist about getting into one of the ONT-380 trials. While the one being run out of PMH has previous TDM-1 as an exclusion (which seems odd if the TDM-1 is...

Just curious.
