neck pain
I have been experiencing neck pain over the past many weeks and it seems to be getting worse (not quickly but definite progression). By early evening the pain is substantial and almost like it is hard to hold my head up without resting it on something (back of sofa/head board). I dont recall "doing anything" to it or injuring it in any way. This is probably just old age creeping in and nothing to do with previous cancer (I am NED) but I thought I'd run it past this group. I have osteoporosis in my hips and spine so maybe this is related to that? Thanks-

Re: neck pain
Hi Donna,
It could be something as simple as changing your pillow but I tend to have any aches or pains checked out if they persist for a few weeks or a month, it can't hurt and will put your mind at ease. |
Re: neck pain
I'm hoping it's nothing but if it's not better in a week or two, or if it gets worse, you really should see someone, even your primary. Neck pain is just that, a pain in the neck. It's not good quality of life with unrelenting pain. There are lots of Rx anti inflammatories that can improve your regular old pain. Don't suffer longer than you have to. Also, heat and gentle massage might help. When my neck starts acting up, I know it's time for a new pillow, they do wear out.
Keep us posted. |
Re: neck pain
Neck pain got better prior to my mo appointment last Friday. My doctor suggested getting a new pillow and see if that helps resolve any remaining pain. So I will shop for a new pillow this weekend. While at the mo office I got my first Prolia shot. So far so good with no side effects. I am hopeful that Prolia will halt worsening osteoporosis. And mo said I could try Rogaine for bald spots/thin hair. So I started that on Monday. Fingers are crossed! Happy Labor Day weekend everyone!
