halaven/herceptin/tykerb-anyone?

Anyone had this combo? If it doesn't work, I'm off to hospice

I've been on herceptin/perjeta/taxotere, herceptin/ perjeta/navelbine and kadcyla all over the course of a year and a half.. all were supposed to be home runs- none of which were for me

Maybe you could try some inhibitors? Where are you located?

Re: halaven/herceptin/tykerb-anyone?

I am on halaven and tykerb since 12/5/13. It has been relatively easy. I haven't had side effects from tykerb and the halaven is not all consuming. It is a quick 2-5 min IV injection after decadron and zofran. The day after I'm ok with just a decadron flush (I kinda look like a beet!) Day 2 is the hardest day when I feel fluish. I call it chemover because it's like a hangover. I'm very tired and don't feel like eating but able to function. I just don't want to. Day 3 is a mild version of the day before and better or gone by day 5. Through all of it I can take care of my to dos, family, elderly parents etc. I do indulge myself more on day 2 tho. I didn't lose all my hair but it did thin. I was blessed with thick hair so I've been able to go w/o head coverings. My bald spots from cyber knife grew back while on it so if you're bald now you may actually see hair grow. I understand some people do lose tho. Eat nutritious best you can and hydrate, it helps. I'll be having a CT a week from Monday and I'll know better how it's doing.
I have talked to my onc about all I've already done and he has said there are lots of things out there, they continue to come up w new things and reassured me we're not running out. Hang in there I don't know your whole situation but I truly hope this new combo does it for you. Lots of hugs, cathy
