Avastin shrinks necrosis?
Mornin' friends...
My doc suggested trying Avastin to shrink the necrotic tissue in my brain. (Gotta get me off these steroids!) Anybody have any experience, expertise, or info about this? Denise |
Re: Avastin shrinks necrosis?
Hi Denise. Interestingly enough, I am receiving Avastin injections into my irradiated eye for the purpose of reducing bad effects of the "zapping". It is said to work on weak, weepy, blood vessels and fluid build up in the eye. It had been tried as a chemotherapeutic agent, but didn't do the job for eye cancer. It's purpose now is to help preserve vision for me. I've had two and will have my next in August. Has it been used in the brain before? My best wishes for great result, Denise. Let us know if you decide to do it.

Preserve vision? Sign me up for this Avastin. My goodness, I am going to ask my MO about this on Friday. I am desperate for anything to preserve my vision too. It's just gotten worse since the radiation to my brain met.
Denise, read this: http://www.naturalnews.com/034009_boswellia_inflammation.html It's about an non steroidal anti inflammatory drug, an herb, for swelling and it even says it works on tumour necrosis. HUH?! Jill |

HEY DENISE, AND EVERYONE CHECKING UP ON HER --
I have a wonderful friend who was having eye problems. She's older than me/older than dirt... :o) Her optphamologist told her to come back in 6 mnths. WRONG. Her vision got worse. She went to Baskin Parmer down here/top eye institution. She'd lost half the vision in one eye. They injected Avastin into her eye. And she returned ev few mnths for more. HELPED TREMENDOUSLY!!!!!!!!!
