A period out of the blue and lower back pain
 

Hi everyone,

I woke up this morning to the lovely surprise of a period. I haven't had one since late August.

Another lovely surprise is that I have pain/discomfort in the lower back area on the right.

My brief online search revealed lots of links tying lower back or pelvis pain to periods, including links to endometriosis.

Any reason why I should be concerned or worried? I was pain free yesterday (but did unfortunately have to stay up late sitting in bed working on my laptop, the pain could be due to my position as well, who knows).

I skipped two periods following the start of chemo, then out of the blue had an 8-day heavy period. Since then, I have skipped two more. My Oncologist said that my period may come and go, but will probably never be the same as it was after chemo. I would recommend calling your doctor, if for no other reason than to put your mind at ease :)

Hi,

I would'nt be too worried about the pain unless it really persists for a few weeks, but do tell your onc your period has started up again!
