MRI Clean!
 

Last week I posted because I was worried after temporarily loosing the vision of in one eye and having continuous headaches. I went for my brain MRI yesterday. It was in a new place. In France, you walk out with your results an hour later. Everything is OK!
I was just a little surprised because they did the MRI with no injection. I had 2 brain MRIs before and they always injected a product. is the examen as accurate without product? It seemed strange.
Next step is seeing my onc today.

Michka - I'm happy that you got good news on the MRI. Wish we could get scan results in an hour here! Maybe the vision loss is due to migraine headaches like someone else posted. Good luck tracking it down. At least the MRI shows nothing serious! Pam

Michka: Since you are having symptoms, I am surprised you were not given contrast. I would inquire with the onc as to why this was not done. I had one done on my spine one time and the hospital did not administer contrast and when I asked my onc, he said they made an mistake, that it was on the order. So, I had to do the test over again.

All of my brain scans are with contrast.

I hope you get some answers on this and for now, YEAH that nothing on the scan!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks to all for your nice posts. I just came back from my onc and he is sending me back for a MRI with contrast. and after, if the MRI is OK, to the cardiologist. He was reassuring but said he wanted everything to be done right. I figure that if there was a big tumor, they would have seen it even without the contrast. But he said he wanted no only to look for tumors but also to try to see the veins . I am furious after this new MRI place. I will not go back there.
I am not as courageous as so many of you and putting my head in the machine wondering what they are going to see makes me so anxious.
But this time, I think it will be easier. Michka

Good for you, Michka, to go back and get it done right. I'm glad your onc is thorough. I know you hate going back now, but imagine how you would feel if you didn't. You'd still have the worries! If he is looking at the veins, he thinks it's something other than cancer. I think he may be checking for an aneurism or signs of hemorraghe. He is good.

Michka, I recently had a back mri with contrast but the following one without and was told it was okay as anything irregular would show anyway.

2nd MRI today. Everything fine! Yippee!!!!!!!!
I also had a Doppler of my neck. It was OK. Next step next week is the cardiologist. But I am reassured. I will never know why I temporarily lost vision in my eye. They took it very seriously and told me to report any strange sign even if I felt silly about reporting. Michka

Dear Michka -
I am so glad that your doc got you in right away and you did not have to sit around and wonder.

More than glad for the results! You will have a lot less to worry about knowing that the problem is not something like an aneurism or tumor in your brain.

Maybe some temporary neurological aberration?

Great news on both test results. It's very interesting to see the differences of Healthcare. To get results in one hour is wonderful; only wish that level of care was available to everyone; everywhere. I can't tell you how anxious I was to wait for my first PET scan results.
I hope your vision corrects soon.
