Prayers for Dorothy

Hi all,

Please pray for my friend Dorothy (80 yrs old). Yesterday at chemo she told me that she asked the onc if this was a cure for her. He told her no, that this is to give her more time.

Very hard to be told that, eventhough she is 80.

Thank you!

D.W.

I'm sorry Dorothy had to hear this news, at any age it's hard to take being told this. I'll keep her in my thoughts:)

I'll be praying for your friend. Her age reminded me of my In-laws' preacher, Dr. Joe Weldon Bailey. When his skin cancer (started on his nose) had spread and his doctor told him that 'It is terminal', he just laughed and said, "Everyone's terminal!"

Oncologists have the hardest job having to tell people the bad news. Her doctor chose to be blunt and honest most likely because he did not want to give her false hope. Yet 'hope' is for things that look 'impossible'. I can't say if it will make any difference. But I do 'hope' our doctors figure out some way to 'deliver' the news in a better manner.
