My MRI Results Post Neoadjuvant Chemo

Hi everyone,

I just got my MRI report after almost completing my neo-adjuvant chemo regimen. Here's what it said:

"The breast tissue is predominantly fatty. There is persistent architectural distortion in the outer aspect of the right breast. The previously identified right axillary node is still present; however, the cortex appears thinner than prior exam. The abnormal enhancement seen on prior exam within the right breast is no longer present. There is still marked skin thickening."

The summary highlighted the fact that there is "no abnormal enhancement to suggest invasive malignancy." I also did a mammogram (showed microcalcifications but no area of concern around the biopsy marker) and an ultrasound (showed nothing, was normal).

So I'm hoping that the "architectural distortion" is just scar tissue. Before neo-adjuvant chemo, I had a huge (12 x 10 cm) area of enhancement that is now gone and my breast was predominantly dense (and is now fatty).

Has anyone else had this term "architectural distortion" come up? Any insights into my results will be appreciated! I'll be speaking with my surgeon this afternoon and will get more information then.

Thanks!!!
