Gemzar - Rising Liver Enzymes? Scary!
 

Hi her2 friends,
I hope you are managing with the challenges we face. Just recently I started Gemzar/Herceptin. After just one weekly treatment my liver enzymes ast, alt, and alk went way up! ast from 49 to 175, alt from 40 to 213, alk from 123 to 178. After the 2nd week, they went up more!

ast went up 40 points, alt went to 320, and alk went to 279! Of course, I skipped the third treatment-do not know the blood results yet. Did anyone have liver enzymes rising substantially? Did your liver enzymes go down significantly after a week off? Did your onc decide to change the dose or have you skip treatments? This is very SCARY; I never had the liver enzymes go up this much!
