Wondering.....
This may seem like a strange question....but here it is..
When a patient is accepted into a trial do they have to pay for the drugs...since the drug/or/drugs are not approved by the FDA yet and therefore not covered by insurance? I was under the impression when in a trial the patient did not have to pay for the drugs. Thanks, Jean |
Jean,
I'm participating in a trial with Femara. The trial lasts 2 years and all tests and drugs administered during that time are paid for by the trial. Cool! Love, Beth |
Jean, when Nikki was in the Lapatinib/Tykerb study, the L/T was free. I hope that info. helps.

Jean,
Usually the drugs are free, tests, labs, scans etc that would be in the normal course of treatment are usually not free (but are covered by insurance) |
I joined a Femara study. Get free Femara. Six months worth at a time. I think my health insurance will still be billed for my oncology visits and tests. By the way, the Femara must come straight from the manufacturer, because the pills don't have the pretty colored coating. They are an ugly gray-brown.
