Planning European ski trip
Hoping this will definitely keep my mind off bc. We just signed up for a european trip from Feb28-March14. We will be skiing in the Austrian Alps for a week, near Salzburg, then spending the second week in Munich and Prague.
I guess despite having liver bone and brain mets, I'm having faith that I will still be here and doing well enough to enjoy a ski trip in Europe. Hope we are all able to take a dream vacation and feel well enough to truly enjoy it! |
I love Salzburg and Munich - I used to ski near there when I was a kid, in a little Austrian town called Ellmau. It was amazing. I hope I might get to go to Germany/Austria before Christmas... Never been to Prague but have always wanted to go!
Have a blast on your dream vaca! Hard to believe it's only 1/2 a year away! This year is FLYING by. |
Esther,
Nice to see your post. I was thinking about you and wondering about how you are doing. Last time I saw your post was about your visit to Stanford for cyberknife to the liver. Please let us know how you are doing. Thanks, Julie |
Dear Esther -
Yes, a ski vacation in the alps will definitely be a change of pace from the cancer routine. I have skied in St. Anton in Austria and the Dolomites in Italy. When we were there Kitzbuel had no snow so missed that one. My mom is right now on a river cruise from Amsterdam to Budapest. Wish I could have joined her, but too much happening on my end to leave right now. We DO, however have a tentative trip to Milan next spring to hear a friend sing at La Scala! Hope that one will pan out. Bet you are water skiing and taking the RV out for weekends now. Enjoy! |
Oh my Ester you are just gonna love it. I will tell you that the shopping in Prague is just fantastic (at least it used to be). Salzburg is beautiful, and I love Munich, especially October Fest LOL.
