Tri for the Cure

Hi,

I rarely post, but read postings quite often. I am competing in the "tri for the cure" this weekend in Denver. I am part of a relay team. I will do the swim, and 2 of my friends will bike and run. The money, of course, supports the Komen foundation. My plans are to "scope it out" this time and next year do the triathlon alone in the survivor category.
Also, I am having a repeat MRI of my spine on Monday. I was having (and still am) back pain. My oncologist ordered MRIs from my cervical area to my lumbar area. There was a suspicious lumbar vertebra that needs to be evaluated again. The first MRIs were 3 months ago. I am nervous! My only child, Sarah, graduated from high school in May and will be attending Tulane Univ in New Orleans. We are leaving on Aug 16th to drive Sarah to NO. I don't want my health to interfere with Sarah's plans.

Karen,

Good for you in your attempt at the "tri for the cure!" Enjoy every moment and thank God along the way that you are strong and able to be a part of this endeavor.

Also I pray that your MRI comes back normal and all is well.

Love to you....

Mary Jo

Karen,

Best of luck with the "tri for the cure."

Since your back is bothering you, it's good that you're swimming.

Your back pain may be caused by arthritis or disc disease. I have the latter and it has shown up on bone scans. I'm praying for a good result for your MRI.

Best wishes to Sarah as she starts college.

Joan
