Thank you so much, Vickie! I always called that one her "movie star" picture, as she was siging our wedding certificate and looked like a movie star signing autographs. I'm still going through pix of both of us on our wedding day on the comp. to post, but I'm not a computer guy, so it might take me awhile. Thanks again, Bill

My heart breaks for you at times - the wedding picture took my breath away. Loss can be so deep and profound and yet I know that time heals. That is not to say it will ever be better or "go away" but that it takes on a softer edge and becomes feelings of love and gratitude as compared to grief-loss and pain.

I have a dear friend who lost her husband (my childhood boyfriend and adult best friend) to cancer 3 years ago - he did not live to his 45th birthday. They were soul mates in love and had a beautiful marriage and relationship. I have watched her morn and grieve over the last few years and she also has tremendous strength as you have. I'm glad that you are on the board as part of your process and know that for you-just as for my friend- that this deep pain shall pass and will be replaced by the love and memories that live forever in your heart.

The first year of loss is the hardest - and the anticipation of the first year anniversary of passing date feels monumental. And then all of a sudden you realize that you are breathing and you can then shift in to the place of love and memories.
