topical tamoxifen to breasts for bc prevention?

This is evidence that low doses of topical tamoxifen can decrease bc without the systemic effects side effects, ig. blood clots, uterine cancer, of oral tamoxifen. Wonder why topical tamoxifen is not advocated more as a bc preventive, especially for those not using oral Tamoxifen to reduce systemic estrogen positive bc reoccurence? Anyone using it? |

HER2's who can't use tamoxifen
Very interesting. I wonder if it might actually also be less risky for those HER2's that tamoxifen is thought to be hazardous? I hope they separate out the results in any trials for those who are HER2.

Might be because topical might only reduce the rate of local recurrence whereas the oral would reduce the rate of both local and distant recurrence.

Tamoxifen / Flax Seed Oil
I was also told to go on Tamoxifen. After a couple of months of research, I decided not to. There were too many negative side effects, not to mention that I could also end up dealing with another cancer and not having children.
I looked into what was the overall purpose of Tamoxifen and found it is meant to bind estrogen. And that it will not prevent non-Entrogen+ breast cancer. I also found that Flax Seed Oil (Lignans) does the same thing naturally. I spent another couple of months researching flax seed oil and decided to go that route. I told my doctor I would rather take Flax Seed Oil for 10 years instead of Tamoxifen for 5. I use Barlean's. |
