How often are you getting a breast MRI?

I have had two MRI's since being diagnoised. I go in for a six month follow up in two weeks. This is alongside my mammos. Is this normal?

The bc did not show up on my mammo because of very dense breast tissue, so maybe that's why. Surgen didn't say, she just scheduled it.

Thanks

I also have very dense breasts. My follow-up includes alternating mammograms and Breast Specific Gamma Imaging (in lieu of an MRI) at six month intervals. Do I understand that you are having both the mammograms and MRI's every six months? If so, that seems like a lot of radiation.

I am alternating mammo's with MRI's every 3 months. Mammo 8/05 then dx with BC 11/05. That is why I get a mammo or MRI every 3 months. Has anyone had trouble with their ins. paying for this?
