Anyone on Tykerb/Avastin trial?

I'm considering this trial - if anyone has any experience or insight, I'd appreciate it!

Hi Chrisy

Where Is This Trial Being Offered? I Had Not Heard Of It.

I Am Being Rescanned This Week To See How The Tykerb/xeloda Is Doing But In The Event That Has Stopped Working For Me, I Was Giving The Avastin Some Thought. I Have Not Heard Of This Combo, So Something Else To Check Into.

Any Info You Might Have Would Be Very Helpful.

Thanks Chrisy And Take Care

Irene, I found a link to a trial with Tykerb/Avastin; don't know if it's the same one Chrisy mentions, but here it is:

A Phase II Study of Lapatinib plus Bevacizumab in Women with Advanced or Metastatic ErbB2-Overexpressing Breast Cancer

Yes, Lolly that's the one

It is being offered in two sites in the US, MSK is one, the other is at UCSF.

I don't have a ton of details on this, but I believe it is Tykerb plus Avastin infusions every 2 weeks, I think for 12 weeks so 6 infusions. I will have more details on Thursday after I see the doctor.

Chrisy, this sounds very promising, and yes, details please after you meet with the doc! I'm probably "graduating" to Tykerb myself, won't know for sure until I see my onc in a couple of weeks.

Thanks Ladies

I Am Going To Check Into With My Onc. When I See Him Next Week After My Scans.

Chrisy Hope You Are Doing Well (mentally Also) And Lolly This Is One Time That I Hope That You Do "not" Graduate.

Take Care My Friends

Chrisy, not sure if you're still on this thread. Please respond if you are. I am on the clinical trial Avastin/Tykerb.

Re: Anyone on Tykerb/Avastin trial?

hi
i saw your post on the fda stakeholder call thread. Great to hear you are doing so well on Avastin/Tykerb! For me, I think it needed a little heavier hit as my best response was stable, and only held for 8 months. That's why it's so important to find out why these things work, as well as look at the RANGE of response since some people (like your) do great for a long time. The averages are virtually meaningless. I was on that study from April 07 till January 08, and since February 08 have been on TDM1.
