I hope its not more mets
My last PET a few weeks ago showed changes to my liver. Findings: hypodensity. So onc is sending me for an MRI this week to get a better picture. I'm quite concerned. Do you think mets?

Re: I hope its not more mets
Joanne my friend faced this but thankfully had a benign liver condition which is quite common and her onc said many people have these but as we get more scans and tests it shows up more with bc survivors! I'm keeping everything crossed for you!!

I'm sure you'll be fine. You're in my prayers.

Re: I hope its not more mets
It's hard not to worry, but try not to because it very well could be nothing. Maybe do something nice for yourself today!

Re: I hope its not more mets
Joanne,
My gut tells me it's not mets...purely unscientific...but my gut has a pretty good track record! Try not to worry...it doesn't help anyway. Stay positive! :) Denise |

Re: I hope its not more mets
The root 'hypo- ' means 'less, below' (while 'hyper' means 'more, over') My guess is it's anything but cancer because cancer cells always exhibit 'hyper' features (growing faster, 'shining' on the scans, ... etc.)
It's hard not to worry. But it seems to be more like a scar tissue to me. Hope the MRI will confirm that. Waiting is always the hardest ... Sending you good vibes. |
Re: I hope its not more mets
I agree with above sending you good vibes too

Re: I hope its not more mets
When I first was diagnosed with BC they saw something in my liver. I had to get two cat scans and then an Ultrasound of some sort all to RULE out liver mets. It was some type of coiled blood vessal they said....Kind of like a birth mark is what they told me.

Re: I hope its not more mets
Thank you ladies. Obviously, I don't have my head on very straight. I didn't get a hardcopy report yet. The results about my liver were via phone so I was going by my bad memory. Jackie I think you're right-- I think it was called hyperdensity. I had the adbomen MRI yesterday so I should have the results in the next 2 days. Trying to wait patiently. Thanks for your positive thoughts and prayers. Hugs, Jo

Re: I hope its not more mets
I just couldn't stand waiting any longer. I called my onc office and my results were in - so I went to pick up my report from the PET Scan in January and the MRI I had yesterday. The PET Scan indicated 'HYPOdensity'. (I can't rely on my memory). The MRI indicates 'No hepatic mass demonstrated" I'm relieved. Thank you ladies and Thank God!
Hugs, Joanne |
Re: I hope its not more mets
So glad for the good news! Glad too that you went ahead and called rather than to just wait and worry.
Happy day! |
Re: I hope its not more mets
That's great news Joanne - very happy for you!

Joanne, I'm so sorry you had to go through a scare like that. Gods blessings to you.
