Tests
We are in the process of updating the content of our website.
I need to know what tests other than IHC, FISH,Serum HER2, MRI and MUGA should be included. Regards Joe |

How about Dexascan or bone density for those on AI's especially |
What about the Oncotype DX test?
|
Echocardiogram during Herceptin maybe?
|
All tests, across all stages?
Bone scans, ct with and without contrast, tumor markers, mammaprint, CYP2D6 metabolism, PET, PET/CT, U/S, details of grade and growth (Scarf Bloom Richardson scale, Ki-67, S-phase, ploidy, etc). ERPR of course. Maybe topoIIa - that jury still seems to be deliberating. For HER2 there is also CISH (not sure what its claim to fame is). And somewhere there could be the discussion of the differences among different ways to assay the same thing - like IHC for ERPR vs. Oncotype DX's quantitative RT-PCR for ERPR, and local vs. central lab pros (are there any?) and cons. That's a start. Debbie Laxague |

CA 15.3, CA 27.29, CT, PET, bone scans...
|
I second the echocardiogram.

FSH and LH for those looking at AI's

Sorry, Joe,
What the heck is MUGA? Couldn't find it in the abbreviations list. |
MUGA is a test that determines the ejection factor of the heart. As Herceptin, Adriamyticin and other drugs may cause cardio toxicity (weakening of the heart muscle) this test will determine how well the heart if functioning:
For More Info: MUGA TEST Regards Joe |
TOPO II
And yes I very much agree on the Oncotype and DEXA. |
