Taxol, Perjeta and Herceptin - need input on next possible treatment plan
 

Preparing to go round 3 with HER 2, last pet scan revealed a nice lymph node in my sub pectoral region, same side as original cancer. Onc is recommending Taxol in small doses, 1 dose per week x 2 weeks, 1 week off, then another 2 weeks of small dose taxol, with the addition of perjeta and herceptin every 3 weeks. Anyone else have any experience with this protocol? I have had TCH in 2010 plus 6+ weeks radiation amd year of herceptin. Then adriamycin and cytoxin in 2011 and changing over to Tykerb and herceptin, finishing up 2 years in june .. now, 4 months after being off meds and I have cancerous lymph node :(
Just checking to see if any of you have been down a similar path and what I should expect from the treatment. thank you.

I haven't but good look to you whatever they decide.

Kind of sucks to keep finding it creeping up, but at least it's not in bone or organ yet. I hope they find the right thing to keep it out and kill it dead!!!!

I have not had your experience with the cancer creeping back. I'm with CoolBreeze on the amen it is not in any other place.

I like your oncologist's approach using dual targets and small dose Taxol with a break. It sounds easier on you.

Good luck with this - I too hope it kills the cancer dead.

In the same boat here. I was on kadcyla for 5 months and that took care of the subpectoral, internal mammary and axillary nodes which were very small to begin with. Skin biopsy confirmed 3rd recurrence in local skin despite a clean PET which indicate progression. consulted doctor for treatment options, was told perjeta or navelbine with herceptin. Taxol can be dropped once the syptoms goes away and bro kept on perjeta and herceptin. Waiting for insurance approval

I think its great if you can do the herceptin/perjeta, good luck getting approval
