Can't say enough good things about the Dorothy G. Hoefer Comprehensive Breast Center and Virginia Oncology Associates in Newport News, VA! These people are awesome. I have never had better medical care from any group of doctor's. I never feel rushed and all of my questions and concerns are addressed promptly. Everyone from the receptionists to the technicians, schedulers, nurses and doctor's are so nice.

I saw your post on your wonderful oncologists. Do you know anyone in the Richmond, VA area that is highly recommended? I would greatly appreciate your help.My onc., Dr Tom Smith relocated to Hopkins and is in Pallitive care. I need someone who is very intelligent, and is willing to be proactive in testing for recurrence and locating appropriate trials. I can travel to Tidewater, but someone around this area would be easier, since I have 2 small children. Thanks!

Hi Mary! I highly recommend the VA Cancer Institute, on West Broad Street, near Forest Ave. Dr Kelly Hagan, part of the group, also has an office in the Mechanicsville area. Dr. George Parker (surgeon) and Dr. Judy Chin (rads) are also part of the group and they are all wonderful. Good Luck!
