Thanks for the laughs Jackie, I've warned my family already about the possible hairdo's I may be sporting while on chemo. I've told them to be on the look out for the Marge Simpson, the pink pussycat and now.....something close to these styles that you've shown us!!

I am getting emotionally ready to say goodbye to my hair and I am trying to make light of it, as much as possible. It is what it is....my only joy in losing 26" of thick jet black hair is that hopefully at least two wigs can be made from it for someone who cannot afford it. I am sending my hair to locks of love.

xoxo -sisters, happy Sunday to you all
Lisa

Love it! (#4 is my favorite!)
Here's me in my fun pink wig! (my sister dared me to "go pink", so I did)
I'm usually very conservative in my appearance...so when I posted it, my friends were ROFL! (rolling on floor laughing)

NEDenise...loving that pink do!!! you look just lovely!! As crazy as this may sound, and I'm sure it does sound crazy...I'm excited about all the new hairstyles and colors I am going to be wearing for the next year of my life. Styles I've admired on others but never had the courage to get. I know this is going to be a long journey but I've decided that I am going to have fun with it as much as I can.
I told my fiance that he is going to have the most fun with my journey as he gets to give me a different name according to the hair (wig) I am wearing. He's already decided that when I wear my long red curly wig my name shall be "Ginger"....LOL
Also, just found what I think is going to be an amazing product....EYEBROW WIGS!!! Amazing the things they have on the market to help us through our journey.
Thanking G-d that maybe, just maybe... I wont have to look like Uncle Fester!!
xoxo-Lisa

NEDenise....Thank You for my new quest, it is to find the rainbow wig!!! LOVING IT! I think my family is more distraught about what I am going to be wearing on my head more then my condition itself. I'd have to agree, I'd be worried too if I were them . LOL

Hugs.... Lisa

Well, Halloween seems like just the right time of year to go looking for that multicolor treasure.

It's funny, my niece, who is 4, is waaaay more concerned about the fact that my hair fell out than that I have cancer. She heard someone say something to me about being sick and immediately corrected them. "Aunt Denise isn't sick, the medicine fixes her...but it makes her hair fall out."
I finally instituted a pink bracelet plan so she could keep track of how long until my hair came back. One bracelet for each round of chemo. I think she thought that when I got #8, my hair was going to pop back out like a chia pet! If I had a dollar for every time she counted those bracelets...I'd be rich!

Here are photos of her when we were playing beauty salon the other day. The blonde hairpiece is to help her get in touch with her "inner Barbie". She is so precious!! And she just loves her Aunt Denise! She really keeps me smiling!
Good luck in your quest, Lisa!
Denise

She is precious and oh so smart! Loved that she corrected the person who referred to you as being sick with "Aunt Denise isn't sick, the medicine fixes her...but it makes her hair fall out."

I am sure that this little darling makes you smile all the time and that is so good for us. We need smiles, laughter and positive energy to give us the strength to kick cancer's @ss.

Things are not exactly real for me yet, while I had the lumpectomy and node removal ...not a big deal. The big deal is heading my way on Friday as I mentioned having the port put in and then the reality begins. I don't know if you've read in my posts that I have 26" hair, Little freaking out over losing it as it has taken forever to grow to this length and by the time it grows back, I think I'll be 60.....oh dear! But, I guess we are sent things that we can handle or so they say. I'm having the head shaved even before my first Chemo so that I can donate it to locks of love.

Ohhhh geeze just realized the time running out to Dr. for echo cardiogram

Lisa,
Thanks...she is pretty precious. She loves to crawl up on my lap now and touch my fuzzy new hair. The fact that my changed appearance doesn't weird her out at all, brings a tear to my eye. Clearly, at 4, she has already learned to love what's inside of people.
Good luck on Friday. I'm sure everything will be fine. It's your first port...but I bet the doc has done 100s!! :)
Stay strong!
Denise

NEDenise,

Children are sponges, they learn from their surroundings. It's quite apparent that little precious has learned from her family that beauty and strength come from within and not what's on the outside.
Denise, I don't know you, however from what I can tell... you are a beautiful woman and it would only make sense that your niece would want to crawl upon you and play with your fuzzy head (wink). She is learning so much from you right now, she is learning how to be strong and courageous. While she may be young, they are sponges as I've said earlier.....

I must confess that I am not a very religious person, but I do have a lot of faith. I've lit a candle for you Denise to wish you luck speedy recovery and for all my HER2+ sisters

Hugs....Lisa
