cold cap
Anybody tried cold cap while on chemo not to loose the hair? Does it really work to keep the hair?
Thanks, Julie |
Re: cold cap
Hi Julie
Tried a cold cap whilst having taxotere after my bc recurred. Whilst it didn't stop my hair loss completely( I kept about 40% but it was very patchy),what it did mean was that once I had finished it grew back really well just as before. My eyebrows and eyelashes have not recovered so I am pleased I did this for my hair as maybe that wouldn't have recovered without the cold cap. Hope this helps Ellie |
Re: cold cap
Hi Julie. I used a cold cap almost twenty eight years ago during chemo following non-HER2 breast cancer. My hair got so thin on CMF plus Vincristine chemo that I eventually gave up on the cap. It lengthened my time doing chemo by a half hour and I was already the last appointment of the day (I had worked that day, teaching kindergarten), was tired and ready to get it done as quickly as possible. I ended up wearing wigs anyway. It seemed worth a shot to me, but I think it didn't do much. Hope that if you are going to do it, it works for you!
