Sharing Good News
What a wild month it has been!
I set out for a Dirty Girl Mud Run, spent some time in Stage 4 land, and ended up NED, all within the space of 5 weeks. Wow! Welcome to the roller coaster of HER2+ ! Here's a quick rundown: Seizure Friday June 13.....CAT scan and MRI revealed solitary 2 cm brain met. Gamma Knife June 24. Zapped it! Subsequent bone scan....all clear. Body scan showed 5 mm spot on liver....subsequent MRI showed nothing! July 17 declared NED. :) I will take it! Follow up brain MRI Aug 19. If nothing new, will do MRIs every 2 months. If/when something shows, we'll deal with it then. Full body/bone scans every 3 months. Again, if something shows up, then we deal with it. Until then, I am embracing NED, and getting back to the business of Living! Though I have only met a couple of you in person, I feel like I know each and every one of you on this board. The love and support here is amazing....whether it's a "good" day or a "bad" day, I know that I can always find strength, wisdom, and inspiration on the HER2 board. You ALL are Brave and Courageous Women! I am grateful to have each of you in my life! Many blessings to you all xoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxox |
Re: Sharing Good News
Wow. That is a Her2 roller coaster ride. I am so happy to hear that it was only 1 met, and that you were able to zap it with Gamma knife.
So pleased of your NED news. Wishes for NED to continue. |

Embur 102,
Wonderful news, you made my day! And I feel the same way you do, that I know everyone here, and so grateful you're all in my life. I was reading the posts last night about the Amazing Christine, who started this forum, and just feeling so thankful for her, too. Have a beautiful NED Sunday! Carol Ann |

Re: Sharing Good News
Thanks for sharing the good news.
Yip, that GKRS is a God-send. You might feel some fatigue the next couple of weeks from the radiosurgery treatment. Get plenty of rest and eat a lot of nuts, fruit/vegies and good protein to help the brain heal. Sending you good vibes. |
