New to the group

I was dx'd stage 4 mets to spine and liver 11/05. Had 3 rounds of chemo (4 drugs) and will soon be getting herceptin with 2 drugs. I am 50+ years young and not ready to leave the planet - as yet! When asked how I am, I respond that I am 'still on the planet'! I have found alternative therapies to be helpful i - reiki and meditation. I look forward to reading the 'stories' posted in this site and chatting from time to time. 'TTFN' and blessings from northern Minnesota!

Welcome! And thank you for introducing yourself. I'm sure you'll find lots of helpful information on this site, as well as lots of 'fightin' spirit'.

I used accupuncture throughout treatment and felt it helped with the nausea. I continue to do yoga and it is helping me get back into shape and providing lots of peace of mind.

Best of luck with your continued treatment.

Jen

Jen, thank you for the warm welcome! Do you or anyone else have any helpful hints regarding herceptin? I did 3 rounds adria/cyclo/taxotere/zometa and will now do 3 rounds of herceptin/taxo/zometa 1x for 3 weeks with 1 or 2 weeks 'vacation'. So far the side affects were 'tolerable'...

I am new as well diax in 2006 had chemo, surgery, radiation, did fine was put on Tamoxifen and broke out with a rash... was then put on femora and my period which I had not gotten for years came back. was taken off and my doctor wanted to try removing my ovaries, my surgeon refuse and taught that taking the shots would be better so I am on the shots, and my skin is still breaking out on the spot of the surgery... so I am going to see my onc next week to find out what is he going to do.. my surgeon recommended herceptin.. my onc wants to put me on more chemo and then try femora again... I'll see what will happen

Re: New to the group

Welcome, ladies.

There is 'Search' button on the top bar with which we can search postings by key word(s). There is also a thread called 'Herceptin side effect - real or conceived' with valuable inputs from many, many members. Many discussions about Tamoxifen have been posted by our members as well.

If you have a specific question, it will be helpful to put it in the subject line because the search engine will then be able to pick it up - helps others to locate your thread by using keywords.
