Note for Lani

Good morning Lani,

I hope 2012 finishes off well for you: there's less than a week til 2013 .:)

You told me to post again on 12/23 if I still needed help with my breast density paper and so I did. I have written my paper but am hoping to improve it. I did not expect your help over Christmas of course but want to verify that you saw my message to you in that thread and are still able to give me a hand. Here it is: http://her2support.org/vbulletin/sho...highlight=Lani

Can you please PM or email me after you look at my note in that thread? If you have changed your mind, no pressure or problem but it would be very helpful for me to know either way.

Thanks a bunch,

Paula

Well, Paula, I hope you do not mind my taking the opportunity to hijack your thread to wish you and our friend, Lani, a happy new year full of wonderful break-throughs and blessings. Lani, a special thank you for all you do for us here on Her2Support. You rock!

Good luck with your paper, Paula.

Hi Paula,

Have you seen the TED talk by Deborah Rhodes from January 2011? She talks about dense breasts and molecular breast imaging, an alternative/additional way to look at dense breasts.
She's from the Mayo Clinic where they're doing a lot of research on breast imaging

Have been a bit overwhelmed with things needing my attention and under the weather (nothing serious) so I think I need to bail on this one.

I am sure the Alamo breast organization knows not everyone can review talks as well as those who speak at the meetings and your level of concern shows you are working hard at this.

If I recover soon, I'll get back in touch. In the meantime, I want to let you know I am truly sorry to have drop the ball!

Thank you for letting me know, Lani. I'm sorry you aren't feeling well and hope you get to feeling tip-top and get all caught up real soon. :)

As far as my paper goes, I've worked hard on it and I think I am all done unless I hear back soon from one of the Dr's who volunteered to be mentors to the breast cancer advocates for the Hot Topic assignment. Two emails bounced back and I didn't get a reply back from the other two doctor mentors that I wrote individually to see if they could read over my paper and give any input/help me sum up the science I didn't understand better. I know people are busy. Oh well, no worries. I think the paper is probably fine as is without more tweaking. I've learned a lot and given it my best which I can feel good about. :)

Laurel, Thanks for the New Years greeting (mine are right backatcha) and well wishes on the paper. My daughter's middle name is Laurel. I think it's a beautiful name and reminds me of the lovely Mountain Laurel flowering bushes we had in Connecticut, (their State Flower).

Henny, I hadn't heard that TED talk before and just listened to it. Wow, that's research/technology to get excited about! I appreciate you telling me about Deborah Rhodes and I discovered some info i didn't know which were nice additions for my paper. Thank you. Perhaps others would be interested too. I found her on Youtube:

I hope you get felling better, and are resting. You have been such a blessing to us all. I appreciated your posting a while back about yourself to encourage some one else.

My prayers and gratitude go out to you and your passion to help others in this battle.

Got your message. Will try to be in touch with the man with the kits before getting back with you. Hope I didn't jump the gun...ie that he still has them and will think it worth my checking to find out who might be the best investigator to utilize them in this way.

Good luck with your job change.

Will try to PM tomorrow

Lani
