high blood pressure

my blood pressure is getting high. right now it's high for me, because i always run low, but not high enough for any meds. it was really high while doing cmf and herceptin to where i took meds. but then was able to get off of them after treatments were done. can other meds i take daily cause high blood pressure? since i have high cholesterol too and heart disease runs in the family i am kinda worried. any ideas?

Hi Juanita-
My pressure is starting to climb I'm sure due to Avastin. I don't know what other meds you take that could cause high blood pressure but you can look them up one by one online. I did that recently to see if any supplements I took could contribute. Also - cutting salt and doing daily cardio (a brisk walk) can help to keep your heart healthy. Gluten free and dairy free diets will improve your cholesterol.

Hi Juanita,
Without knowing your other meds...
One of the easiest methods is diet.

You can achieve some control with foods.
Low salt (you already know that) as far as blood pressure and weight is another great way of dropping the BP.

Walking is a great help also.
Best Wishes,
jean

walk every day and have lost 20 pounds. i don't consume hardly any salt, even in processed foods. i'll check meds later.

Hi Juanita. I am six months post all treatments and just two weeks ago my systolic pressure started rising about 30 points...and it has been low my whole life. I am also dealing with constant throbbing headaches. Had a brain MRI last week that was negative. Trying to treat it now as sinus stuff... any solutions you found? thanks.. Westswon
