Sounds like she may have metasteses to her ribs - try to pinpoint the pains or other clues.
Ask your relative to get a copy of her FULL records RIGHT AWAY from the treatment center she has been going. With this information, which may be too overwhelming for your relative, you can help take charge of the search for another medical oncologist.
Most patients NEED someone to act as their advocate, as sounds like she is lucky to have you!
ASK AROUND to get some other opinions on where to go next and then get in there ASAP. Do you have any friends or acquaintences that are nurses - they can be great resources. Check with you local chapter of Cancer Lifeline or other support groups. You WILL find the right doctor.
