Well Jojo - I don't know if I can truly say that I was that fit. I had just turned 50 - I did excercise some before we found the cancer but I have to say that I had enough fat around my stomach area to do that procedure (not really overwt but not thin either) I was always a pretty healthy person though. Never got sick before the cancer. I stayed home from work for about two months after the mastectomy/reconstructive surgery but probably could have gone back sooner. I did try to stay as active as I could at home, like walking around inside of the house to get my strength back and that seemed to help.
