More support for the benefits of more frequent, lower dosing...although not exactly metronomic.
The idea of tumors actually slowing down (relatively) as they get large is very interesting...especially when paired with the notion that shrinking them quickly makes them come rebound quicker. The issue of self-seeding/circulating tumor cells returning back to grow the tumor may be causing the rebound. Maybe hitting a larger tumor hard, spreading a certain number of cells, only to return home and angrily feed the fire is a fundamental problem. Maybe his work is slowly leading him to Kerbel's metronomic approach. I really wish we could get some of these folks off their research islands and in the same room for a bit. |
