TDM1 Study
Ladies, I'm so sorry I have not posted in along time but I just wanted you all to know that I have been in the TDM1 study since March, and for the first time in (3) years, my PET/CT scan showed me as N.E.D. praise God! That's right, out of my bones, and liver. It has in the past been out of my liver but never out of my bones. I believe this has been my miracle treatment, and I hope and pray it gets approved for anyone that needs it.

Verna,
Your response is wonderful news! Praying that you stay forever NED. Joan |
Fantastic news, Verna! Glad to hear it is working so well for you. Although (like so many other drugs) it does not work for everyone, it is a great drug when it does! Thanks for the smile.

Verna - I am thrilled for you. Wonderful news, thanks for sharing. I hope you dance with NED forever.
all the best caya |
Thats' great! Does anyone know if this might have utility for her2 neg?
|
That is THE BEST NEWS a cancer survivor can have - you have dodged another barrage!
Congratulations - I am so very happy for your great news. Rich - I don't see how this drug could work for HER2 neg as it is still Herceptin, just with a smart bomb attached. If they can find a way to target the non-HER2 cancer cells, than the concept could be a good one ... |
Verna, That is fantastic news! I'm just so happy for you. Wow, that stuff was just what the doctor ordered and then some! Totally NED is amazing...time to do the happy dance. :) Thanks for sharing such good news it put a smile on my face. Big congratulations.

Steph,
I have been wondering about Tykerb which also targets her1, I think. Unless I'm missing something, I wonder if Tykerb could be of benefit, if only for targeting the DM1, in her2 neg. |
Verna
That is wonderful news. Congratulations and keep up the great work. |
Verna,
I am so happy for you. Thank you for offering me some hope this week. Amelia |
VERNA, CONGRATS.. THAT IS AWESOME NEWS...
WILL YOU REMAIN ON THE TRASTUZUMAB-DM1 TREATMENT GOING FORWARD.. run to live |
Hi Verna,
Thank you so much for sharing your wonderful news! I was on the launch pad to start this study, but my liver enzymes were a little too high. So I am doing a few rounds of doxil and hope to get started on the TDM-1 in January. You and Chrissy and Irene in Tampa have given me such amazing hope for this very elegant and exciting use of the herceptin molecule. Please keep us posted. I think this can be an amazing next step for women like us. YOU GO GIRL!!!!!! |
Rich,
the DM1 is attached to the herceptin molecule, so even with Tykerb targeting Her1, the DM1 would be unable to locate and deploy to the cancer cells if they were not her2+. But the point of identifying targets is to find something to aim at, so I'm hopeful that they will be able to find other ways to deliver these therapies for those who are not her2+ |
