Triple positive and endometrosis

My daughter was dx with BC at age 28. She did 6 doses of TCHP , bilateral mastectomy with reconstruction, and now Herceptin. One onc recommended tamoxifen and another recommend Lupron with Arimidex. She also wants to have her tubes removed, but neither doc thinks it necessary. She lives in Illinois and any gyne onc recommendations or input might help relieve her stress and anxiety on this decision. Thank you!

Re: Triple positive and endometrosis

Hi Kdeek! I am 7 years out from my triple positive diagnosis. I did Tamoxifen for 3 years but it was very harsh on me so I was a candidate to have a full hysterectomy with ovary/tube removal then moved to Arimidex since I was post-menopausal after that. This was my decision, my oncologist was not my guide in the hysterectomy advice. I researched that it would be a wise move for me and my future. Luckily I had fibroids large enough for them to get it approved. I do not regret my decision one bit, very happy I had it done and feel fantastic! Arimidex has been easier on my body than Tamoxifen. I also got the good news that I will be officially done with it in September.

This is a tough decision for your daughter due to her age and the difference in opinions with the oncologists. She has endometriosis too from what I read in your title post, correct?

Good luck to her - we are all champions of our own bodies, sometimes we have our own instincts on what to do rather than what doctors say.
