Xeloda side effects

Any xeloda buddies out there that can share some advise?

The bottom of my feet are killing me. I can't stay on my feet for too long. The dr was out last week when it started.

I also have this weird thing going on with my lips. I have bumps on the bottom lip. They're not cold sores. The inside of my lips are really red and I have sores on both sides of my mouth. Has anyone had this?

Xeloda is doing a number on both the cancer and me. But I guess in the big scheme of things at least the cancer is leaving.

Thanks, Tonya

Tonya: Had the feet thing too. All of my skin peeled off, ugly, and the bottoms turned black, uglier. Things improved after a dose reduction.

I also found if you are on you feet soak them in cool water and use a cream. I used Eurcerin Targeted Foot Therapy. Elevate your feet whenever you can. I also took two 100 mg of vit B6. I found wearing open shoes helped, especially soft bedroom slippers at home and flip flops.

My hands were affected too. I had GI issues as well. Taking lactabacillius made a difference as well as small meals frequently.

I hope to get results with the side effects and with crushing those cancer cells!!!

Take care...Darlene

I can relate to the feet...when i was on Xeloda for 1 1/2 years, it did a number on my feet. I avoided extreme heat and cold, used tons of lotion and wore flip flops all the time...soft cushioned ones like Havaianas
That took some doing in the winter in Illinois...try to take it easy on the feel, if all else fails, ask your onc. for Neurontin (Gabapentin)...it helps!,

Hi Tonya,

I just started Xeloda too and have just started noticing some side effects - like the mouth sores. No hand and foot syndrome yet but I moisturize every night before bed with a product called Utterly Smooth. Seems to be working so far. We just increased my Xeloda dosage though so I may start to notice some of these things. Thank you ladies for the tips in advance. I'm hoping I can find the right dosage to kill the cancer and still be kind to my hands and feet. Although, I agree, it is a small price to pay to blast the tumors.

Love and prayers to you all,

Courtney
