B12 deficiency

I am currently taking Tykerb and Xeloda. My oncologist is running a blood test to see if I have a B12 deficiency indicated by enlarged blood cells. Has anyone had a similar occurance?

I too am on Tykerb/Xeloda, but haven't heard of that... what were your symptoms?

The enlarged blood cells were discovered through my regular blood tests. I really have no symptoms that I attribute to a B12 deficiency. I am tired after a day of teaching, but that could just be from the medicine I am on.

B12 deficiency

Hi,
I had large red blood cells. The doc said that baby blood cells are large. I don't know if that applies to everyone.

fatigue can be an indication of low b12 levels. You can get chewable supplements at Wal-mart, or b12 injections that you can give yourself, from a prescription from your dr.

Also some alternative health care practitioners advocate b12 supplements for cancer patients, that would be something to run by a naturapath and get his input.
