DES Daughters?
Did any of your mom's take DES while pregnant with you in the 1940's or 1950's? There is some evidence emerging now that daughters of DES have a 2 1/2 times greater chance of developing breast cancer. I have none of the risk factors but I developed it.
Thanks, Diannes |
Re: DES Daughters?
Yes, my mom took DES. I think we have old posts talking about this.

Re: DES Daughters?
Bonnie, thanks for responding. DES daughters do have a 2 1/2 x more chance of developing breast cancer. This was verified by more than two oncs I talked to and I have seen it online as well as in scientific studies....I'm glad to hear your sisters are well! Have they never had any reproductive disorders, which DES can cause...premature births/labor, or??

Re: DES Daughters?
They are not my sisters. But are relatives. They are twins. No disorders to my knowledge. Both had had a few children, full term, no problems

Re: DES Daughters?
That's good to know. I do know that it depends upon when the mother took the DES - which trimester and for how long and how many mg's.
