Sinus issues (again)

Hi everyone

I have just had my herceptin put off for 2 weeks due to sinus issues again. I am on my second course of antibiotics and have trouble sleeping due to sinus pain. Any tips?

Have you tried the ocean or saline nose spray...it helped me when I was having sinus problems a while back...I used it several times a day. Hope this helps

If you can't hit the ocean, rub tiger balm on you temples and the bridge of your nose. Take a hot shower allowing the stream to hit your forehead and face. Boil a pot of water with thyme, rosemary and lavender. Pour it in to a bowl and rest it on the table. Sit with a towel over your head and the bowl not allowing any steam to get out. Fresh herbs are best, essential oils work just as good as do tea bags. Some sinus infections may be linked to food allergies. If this is a persistent problem, you may want to see an allergist.

I sleep semi-reclined and that seems to help me. One pillow like usual along the headpost, another pillow set as a "T". The second pillow supports my back and head. It was awkward at first to sleep that way, but now after many months, I am used to it. It helps me. Some on this site use a "neti pot" for help with sinus problems. Best wishes for relief for you.

Perhaps daily use of Claritin or Zyrtec (24 hr non-drowsy antihistamine) will help alleviate the problem. I have always felt allergies were my sinus downfall and this helped me. My sister uses nasal lavage with saline and swears by it. The machine is supposedly relatively cheap.
