4 years for me!
June 14, 2005 is when I had my bilateral mastectomy, the date I consider my "cancerversary". It has been an incredible 4 years. My gratitude list is HUGE!!! This support group and all of you wonderful, strong, brave friends are right up there!! Life is good!

Wonderful news, Susan. And Marie, I just love the term "growth rings!" That's just brilliant. I have collected one growth ring this past May! May we all grow into Mighty Oaks, well actually, I'd like to be a mighty Pennsylvania Cherry!

Suzan,
Isn't it just wonderful to say 4 yrs since dx? It can feel like you heard the bc dx. yesterday, but the time does pass and we move forward. When I turned my 4th year in April I thought about the beginning and how much has happened in the 4 yrs since dx. We made new life decisions. We learned how strong we are and can be for ourselves and others. We learned we can live without hair. We learned a new understanding of how precious each moment truly is. We learned we had so many sisters! Yes, who would have "thunk" that cancer can bring some great things into our lives. Congrats Suzan and I wish you 40 more! Big Hugs, jean |
Congratulations to you! Wishing you many many more years of enjoying life.

Dear Susan
Congratulations from me too. What an accomplishment. Seeing the women who responded to you - I remember most of us going through treatment, Herceptin or late Herceptin together. There are many in the 4-5 yr club and that is a testament to the right treatment and support (with self/patient advocacy thrown in). It all works. I am thrilled you continue to thrive. Love from me |
Muy bueno, mi amiga!
Susan, it is wonderful to see your tan (evidence of vitamin D) and see that you made the move. Your post brought back to mind the day of our luncheon in Seattle, and the belief I had then (and now) that you would see many, many more years to come....
