Happy Chanukah!

Happy Chanukah to all - may the Festival of Lights illuminate joy, health and happiness for all!
These are some menorahs we have - note the "shoe" menorah front and center (we are in the shoe business). This was a gift from dear family friends when I finished chemo! all the best caya |
Re: Happy Chanukah!
Caya -
That makes a beautiful display. How do your decide which one to light? Or do you set them around your house and light them all? Some look like antiques. I need to restock my shoes. Can I come see you about that? Have a wonderful holiday with family and friends. |
Re: Happy Chanukah!
Steph the 2 brass ones are from Israel. None are antiques, but the smaller brass one I bought 35 years ago in Jerusalem, so I guess it's heading towards antique status!!
We usually just pick one and use if for all the nights. Last year we used the shoe one, this year we are using the taller steel/silver one in the left of the photo. It is tradition to place the lit menorah in your front window so that it literally "illuminates the world." We have an electric one that we put in our window - we add a flame shaped bulb each night. all the best caya (one of these days we shall meet and I will bring shoes...) |

Happy Chanukah to all. For those in the USA, you can have latkes with your turkey instead of mashed potatoes. Cheers!

Happy Chanukah from cold but dry Maryland. It will be a very high carb day with latkes, stuffing & potatoes. And dessert.
Caya - I LOVE the shoe menorah. It speaks to me :-) Janis |
