Herceptin/Tykerb for Stage 1
I was diagnosed with Stage 1, HER2 positive (triple positive), last week. The treatment recommended is Herceptin and Tykerb to shrink tumor (2cm). If no progress is made in 6-8 weeks, I will start chemo. I just wondered if anyone had ever heard of this before? Or had this treatment? I know this particular hospital just finished a trial that has not been published yet about this protocol. Just looking for experience....THANKS!

I did this combo as a clinical trial--a huge success for me as you can see from my signature. Best of luck to you!

Re: Herceptin/Tykerb for Stage 1
Thanks for help! I had resigned myself to this decision and was relatively appreciative about it...Well, I went for CT Scan, Bone scan and echo. I wasn't even out of the parking lot when they called to tell me that there were some abnormalities in my liver scan. So back for another MRI on Thurs. before I am suppose to start Herceptin on Friday. Pray that it is nothing.
