~What Is The Lifetime Limit For Adriamycin???

Although the doctor and our chemo nurse let us know and I did write it down, I cannot find it. What is the lifetime limit for this drug?? I started to research it but found myself getting sidetracked. Lately I feel like I have ADHD!! LOL>>Thanks In Advance>>Believe51

Hi Believe

It goes by body surface area. I saw a chart for "average" body surface area.
It was 1.95 sq.m for men and 1.60 sq.m for women

The general amount of adria is 550 mg/m2, so if you multiply that out, it would be 1073mg for men and 880mg for females.

I think it is cumulative for all the "rubicin" drugs. (doxorubicin)

The 550 number is the amount considered safest (?) for avoiding heart damage.
