Herceptin alone with Arimidex for triple positive stage 1B?

Can someone share treatment experience of herceptin alone with Arimidex for triple positive stage 1B? No TC chemo. Any sicknesses?

I am triple positive, but as it was nine years ago I was given chemo, herceptin, tamoxifen and then finished with Femara. Chemo sucked. Nothing more can be said about that experience. I found Herceptin very tolerable. My nose was drippy and my nails became so soft and broke easily.

Femara, an A.I., was tough on my joints, especially my knees. I do not miss the stuff at all! In early stage BC studies appear to suggest that chemo isn't particularly beneficial for us. If dx'd now I would forego it myself.

Good luck! You'll get through it soon enough and get on with your life!

I had chemo but when that finished I was on herceptin with Arimidex and found it to be easily tolerated with no sickness or side effects you'd expect other than a little joint stiffness. Good luck and hope you do well on it. I was highly triple positive.

I was dx triple positive stage 1a in 2006. I declined chemotherapy, had lumpectomy, rads, Herceptin and AI. Everything was tolerable for me except the AI's. I bounced back and forth between Femara and Arimidex for three years when I called it quits due to joint pain and other QOL issues. I had similar nail issues and drippy nose as Laurel with Herceptin, but they were insignificant. At my latest annual check up with my onc last month, he told me that my decision to forego chemotherapy had been the right choice.

Best of luck with your treatment plan.
